Silk Screen printing is also known as "serigraphy" or silkscreening and has a long history originating over 1,000 years ago in China. In simple terms, Silk Screen printing differs from traditional screen printing by the use of multiple screens being used for a single image. Each screen typically represents a specific "layer" of the image and usually represents a different color patern for the master stencil. In this case, you're able to achieve screen prints with multiple colors in very specific and close proximity to other areas of the image.

Silk Screen printing requires both a trained artisan as well as special template and press equipment.
